Directions from Brownsville Texas

Upon entering Mexico you should allow a minimum of 2 overnight stops for this journey. De Alba Trailer Park lies just 575 miles south of Brownsville, Texas, on the Gulf of Mexico. Mexico Hwy 180, KM 86. In the vacation area called the Costa Esmeralda.

Directions: Cross at the Veteran's Bridge in Brownsville. Take Hwy 101 south out of Matamoros. Come to La Coma Junction with Hwy 180. You will choose to go right up the hill to Ciudad Victoria or left on Hwy 180 toward Tampico. Hwy 180 is shorter, but narrower, it is usually a good road. There is RV camping at Cd. Victoria and La Pesca. If you went to Cd. Victoria, come back to 180 toward Tampico. If you have a large rig it is best to take the bypass around Tampico, small rigs can go through the town and over the bridge. About 85 miles south of Tampico there is an RV park on the right in Cerro Azul (Blue Mountain). On the following morning there is no more than a 5 hour drive on Hwy 180 to De Alba. We are 1 mile pass the town of Monte Gordo on the left-hand (beach) side Coordinates N20.16.927 W.096.49.693

We strongly recommend that you bring along *Travelers Guide to Mexican Camping by Mike and Terri Church, published ,by Rolling Homes Press, http://www.rollinghomes.com/ , and a Spanish dictionary and phrase book. Additionally a good road map is a must. We recommend *Guia Roji Atlas de Carreteras http://www.guiaroji.com.mx/ , it is available in most US border towns and at some bookstores and newsstands in Mexico but can be hard to find once out of the border area.

*Both these publications can also be sourced via www.amazon.com
